Oolite Bulletins

New player to the game, I installed a bunch of mods, traded my way to an easy 20k and kitted out my cobra with a mil laser and som other snazzy stuff to go kill some baddies...

So far I've died 3 times straight and I'm now paused about 50 min through a dogfight I seem to be winning...I've got an Adder 9 in front of me who squirms like he has elite combat status and seems to be unaffected by lance after lance of milspec laser pounding into his shields...I swear the bounty on these guys should be 5k or more...Anyway, I assume I turned on something like 'roflstomp BBQ pilots' or some such similar mod, because I don't really remember elite being this hard (at least it wasn't for me back in '85)...

Can't wait to see if I survive this fight and live to get to a station...

Elite was a turkey-shoot, Oolite is tougher! Some mods can make it tougher still. Good luck!

Actually I cheateated a little and had sshowed 'energy' of ememy showed in some MFD and sometimes, ( nearly everytimes) I ru to enemy, which is just unaffected by any laser I have (yes, even RimmerAce one) and I have just run away. My leaser hists does not affects some enemies. (Strangely misiles ot direct shields hits do and destroy them.) The chance to fing "invictible enemey" is small like 1:20 or less, but happens time to time - I supposse that more of bug in the game, than enemy with exxxxxxtra equipement. (Also the game ssometime just crashed in kinf of stopping responding to any joystick/key and soon also sound stop playing, and no other came out - I have to swich elsewhere and do killall - oolite to get text screen, that the game ended) I am not runnining much elkse, then X, bash and oolite at thiss time and "usually: "argh, I got killed" and "20Cr for killing awarded" went just right, but sometimes may it it the exactly the same time point or what and the game freezes like that.

And yes, it happenss even in unmodified Strict mode.

The only laser which is effective against these ships: OMGLaser

I saw this as a side effect of HardShips OXP. If you use it then try uninstall this package and see if it still happen or not.
Yes, it is not a feature but a lurking bug what I was not able to hunt down in reasonable time so left in as an easter egg. After all it is fit into the goal of the addon: to make some hard ships.
