This is driving me batty - I cant find any of the config files / shipplist etc on the Mac. In my Oolite folder there is only an extras folder, which is blank apart from bbc keys and some other read me folder which also doesn’t have much. What am I missing?
Cheers

If you're looking for OXP config files, they will be in either "~/Library/Application Support/Oolite/AddOns" or "~/Library/Application Support/Oolite/Managed AddOns". With the Managed AddOns folder, if you want to adjust the content, it's probably easier to just to select the "List installed expansion packs" in the Download Manager, select the pack to want to tinker with, and press "x" to extract the content to the AddOns folder, where it will have an extension of ".off". You can then rename the folder to have ".oxp" instead of ".off" to make it "live", and you would then need to delete the version in the Download Manager.

If you're looking for the core game config files, I'm not sure (I don't have a Mac, just cribbed the folder details from some other posts).

Thanks, but no joy unfortunately. The x key works but the folder the game says said oxp is extracted to does not exist. God I hate Macs (it’s the wife’s laptop).

I should have said I managed all the OXPs through the game itself not by going to the Oolite website and downloading. Just in case that’s the reason?

Theoretically, and based on my experience with WIndows, the destination for extracted OXP's is the AddOns folder, which on the Mac should be ~/Library/Application Support/Oolite/AddOns. Do you have this folder on your Mac? Is there anything inside it?

It shouldn't be.

This folder exists ~/Library/Application Support/ but there’s no /Oolite/AddOns part unfortunately. I’ve even searched the whole Mac for addons but no joy. The Mac hates me...

Ah. Unfortunately, we've come to the end of my knowledge of Mac folder locations. We might have to wait for another Mac player to lend some assistance on this one.

The core game config files (shipdata.plist, etc.) on the Mac are inside the Oolite.app. Right-click on the app (or alt-click if right-clicking isn't enabled; or, better still, open System Preferences/Mouse and enable right-clicking) and select "Show Package Contents". The config files are in ~Contents/Resources/Config/.

To find the "Managed AddOns" folder, go to the "Go" menu in Finder. Press alt to show Library on the menu, and select it. The folder should be in ~Library/Application Support/Oolite/Managed AddOns.

Sorry for delay, gentlemen.
And thank you, Disembodied, for tip with Alt key to show Library in Go menu. I was using more complex way to access Library from Finder

Unfortunately, there is still issue with extracting OXZ files.
I’m the only user of my Mac and almost all my applications installed in root directory Applications, not in Users/username/Applications. So my Oolite is located in Applications/, not in ~/Applications, too.
In my case extracted files will be placed not onto my game directory, but onto new created directory ~/.Oolite/AddOns. Leading dot in .Oolite means it is hidden folder, so you have no direct access to its content without tools for working with hidden files such as Deeper or so.

This is not critical issue for advanced Mac user, but it is frustrating for newcomers indeed.
