There's already a Serenity somewhere in the OXPs,
Is that in Staer9's "Shipset" OXP? No, it's an old-style OXP which doesn't work through the OXP manager. Box (where the OXP is stored) is playing up. Or maybe Staer9's account / files have gone?

From Staer9's profile page :
Last active : 2018-11-16T17:16:50+00:00
I hope he's still monitoring his email from "Hertfordshire (Poor, Industrial)"
The url for box shares has changed at some point so that "www" must be replaced with "app". Make that change to the serenity box share url and the beauty is all yours.

Well, I wasn't wrong about not having this around for long - I listed it on eBay at £35 on Saturday evening, was offered £27.50 a couple of hours later, counter-offered £30 before I went to bed, and woke up to find it sold. Which makes me think I should have offered it at £40 or more to begin with, but never mind...

I can't seem to find the OXP for the Firefly ship at all - there's a link to an OXP it's derived from, but not the actual OXP. Can someone post a link?

OK, having tried it I think I won't be flying one - the cargo capacity etc. is silly. Looks very cool though so I think I will have the OXP loaded so that I see the ships flying around occasionally.

I've just rejigged the Benolubiweed Inc. page on the wiki. Have you ever tried any of those?

Yes, one of my current saves is flying a Falcon.

But I see that the Firefly on there has better cargo capacity etc. - I just can't figure out where to download it, it isn't anywhere I've looked.

blueprint firefly
82 meters long and 75 ton cargo capacity

oxp firefly
171 meters long and 5t + 15t capacity

Lets say the oxp meters are oolite meters, so slightly larger than a Cobra mkiii ( fine )
up the cargo capacity

Code: Select all

max_cargo = 75;
Seems reasonable...

If you also want to rescale the firefly ( to blueprint size meters )

Code: Select all

model_scale_factor = 0.4895;

Bought another spaceship - most expensive so far, at about £17 including postage

Image

It's a 3D printed version of Wallace and Gromit's rocket - the original model was designed to be 5cm high but I want it for a tabletop RPG and it worked out that about 12cm high was right. Got a friend to print it out and send it to me, wasn't cheap because there's quite a lot of filament in it. Still needs finishing and painting, but it's a while before I need to use it.

If anyone wants the 3D model for this it's here:

For some reason my one doesn't have the lower hatch for the engine compartment - I'm pretty sure it's never shown until late in the film, when the robot cooker thing wanted to board and they needed somewhere for it to try to force an entry - but yes, that's the ship.

I've run an adventure with Wallace and Gromit before - that one was Wallace and Gromit, the Top Gear team and various other fictional characters doing a rather silly version of Asteroid - they get asked to deflect it from hitting Milton Keynes; "How hard could it be?"

I also wrote that one up as fanfic:
