Would it be possible to view the ships models in rotating 3D in the expansion pack manager?

I understand this is a conveniency, rather than a need, as the player can go and check the oxp content on the internet.

The 3D model need to download the whole package first which is not so practical imho. I think a static image would be enough, for example as an url in the manifest file. Moreover if it is missing then the wiki page of ships contain somewhat standardized pictures what the game could download and show as a thumbnail.

Or even make the OXP url clickable in the manager, so that it opens the given url in the user's default browser.
The static image could be a webm, but this could be hard on those with small bandwidth.

So, solutions could be:
- static image,
- webm,
- wiki clickable link,
- images extracted from the wiki page.

I like them all

I believe that was looked at but the decision was, there were too many issues with cross-platform compatibility to make the effort worthwhile.

As a compromise, though, the OXP url is copied to the clipboard when the info page for the OXP is displayed.
