Spacer's tricks

Okay another thought for a good oxz, after reading the saga novels, contained there in are all sorts of spacer tricks or tweaks that can be done to get a desired results from a ships engine or systems that are not conventional or risky that could be made into buyable one shot tweaks.
Poor man's fuel injection it one.
Witch space injectors are out so you dump 2.2 percent witch space fuel into the drive exhaust. Catapulting the ship out of harm's way.
Definitely voids the ship warranty. Lol
There are a few other tricks noted that would or could spice things up on the fly.
Thoughts anyone?

This should be possible to OXP by adjusting max speeds temporarily, but I do not think that such tricks would be on sale anywhere, except maybe some forgotten rock hermit at the outer regions of an anarchy down at the corner of a chart. Additionally, there should be some penalties for the player who deploys such systems (e.g. chance of engine cut-out, possible loss of equipment etc.).

What other tricks do you have in mind?

Oh I agree. These tricks or tweaks should only be found at rock hermit or dredgers and definitely adverse effects or system damage if used.
There where a few tweaks I caught in my read of the saga novels and I will make a list of them, what they do and what damage may occur if used.
But in dire straights they may save a spacer's life.

There's a very simple trick that gives you a few seconds of extra speed, way above the usual maximum for fuel injectors, as you come out of torus drive. Hold down the fuel injector button BEFORE you are mass locked, then you decelerate to normal fuel injector speed over three or four seconds, rather than dropping down instantly to your speed without injectors. It can be very useful if you run into something you don't want to fight, or simply want to get close before the opposition can react.
