Hey! That will be fun!
But why so low prizes for capturing nasty criminals? I know that there are a lot of them, but it seems that their head money has really gone through a bad inflation...

looks like this will be a winner!
Will passenger berths be req? & will it be adaptable for missions with scriptable events i.e. picking up a certain person leads to a definable reward. Sorry i feel I'm jumping the gun here but this could help in certain mission OXP's on the go...

No you don't need passenger berths. The rescuees stay in their escape pods in your hold until you dock.
I'll think about how to add script hooks to this. But essentially that'll mean scriptable ways of creating characters and assigning them as ship's crew or passengers, and then notifying the script when they are killed or rescued. Or being able to check for their presence in your hold when docking.

This would be very good to have and gives more possibilities for story ideas.

My immediate reaction was "this is cool, I would have set the non-criminals free and handed the crims over to the police when I docked anyway", but that was quickly followed by the realisation that escape pods are programmed to make their own way to the station so this would happen anyway if I just left them alone.
Of course someone else might scoop them up before they get there, so that might be why the pay outs - happen... as a reward for ensuring the right people get to the right place.

Excellent work, Giles!
I'll admit that when I saw the thread title, I immediately thought it was going to be retribution for all those escape pods I've shot... err, I mean that accidentally exploded...

Perhaps there should be a choice whether you want to give the criminals to the local police, sell them as slaves... or sell them as meat products? Someone who really gave you some tough time would certainly earn to be treated like the last item on the list...

So what about selling them as slaves anyway ?
(e.g. "Damn the money, the damned pirate deserves no less!")
I do not think docking at a hermit or pirate-hermit should enable you to claim bounty or drop off naive innocents.
Rather the hermit would offer to buy the innocent lady-crewmember as slave.
Could even be that hermits offer the 500creds for pirate escapees; always good to have a criminal that owes you....

looks like a great addition btw Giles. good job so far.

Hmmmm, It would be nice to be able to bounty hunt & capture pods to take to specified rock hermits for ransom business

Love it.
Great idea, superbly implemented, as per.
But, if you destroy an innocent craft and scoop up the escape pod, you get a reward for rescuing them from, err...., yourself? It's (almost) a shame to take their money!
