I actually played the game for a few hours. Then I had to "fix" something that ain't broken .

Over the years I have found Thargoid's Cargo Spotter to be indispensable. However, the flashers have always felt a bit off for me. So here's my approach, which I feel fits in to the game a bit better.

Buy the Cargo Targeter equipment for the same price and the same requirements as the Cargo Spotter. Prime the gimmick and it's ready to be used. Activation key (n) targets the closest scoopable cargo in scanner range. Mode key (b) cycles the target through scoopable cargoes in scanner range.

A bit more playing as a miner and I'm already missing some small features . Trying to keep this as simple as possible though.

* A notification sound is played on activation, when there's nothing to scoop around.
* When targeting scoopables using the equipment, the lollipop briefly flashes to gray. Useful when cycling through targets with mode key (b).
