The ever-useful blue ring is your friend.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

"blue ring"? Not in the wiki. Is that some OXP?

No, it's a new feature in 1.84 - if you look at the chart there's a blue circle around one of the planets, indicating the planet whose information is displayed on the System Information screen. You can move the circle along a route using alt-left/right cursor keys, and thus get information for any system along the route.

Also...
On the F7 system info screen, use the left and right arrow keys for info on the previous/next system on your current route. The home key will show info for the home system and the end key that for the target system.
I usually run with the blue ring set to the next drop/stopover/repair system - if it's beringed on F6, I'm going in.

Since I'ev been away from home for most of the last several weeks, I've not done the upgrade yet.

I've been pondering again - would it be useful/possible to have route details include the number of jumps?

Can that be added to F6 too? That way, F6 would give jumps to the route's terminus, and F7 would give jumps to the next POI.

I've added it, but I've put it on the line below to stop the existing line getting too cluttered. I'm not sure it looks right where it is, though.

Ah - I thought there was enough room. You're probably correct - second line won't look right.

I didn't think it looked that bad really. I could live with jumps reported on the second line.
