I had a look into the latest log. What does this mean? Oolite 1.80
See below a list of OXPs installed.

The first line says you need 'Snoopers' an oxz for galactic news bullitins. It's actually quite fun to have. The BGS is dependent on it.
The rest is your ooniverse being populated. I think there are more types of ship than AI's. So it defaults to nearest type.

As far as I can see this is the game just loading your oxz's then oxp's.

You didn't say if there was a problem? Doesn't look like there is, except you need Snoopers for your BGS to run. It probably takes audio files from that oxz/oxp. Pretty sure Snoopers is still in both formats.

It'll be SmivsShipset. You have the replace version which is overiding the core ships and roles. It has never been updated for Oolite v1.80 and is no longer supported having effectively been replaced by the Classic Ships. It does not use the new roles which is why the game is making substitutions - you are probably not noticing much difference in-game.
You can continue to use it, and installing cim's shipset compatibility OXZ will sort out the roles.

Maybe, I'll try. I skipped this intentionally, I love the quite space after a noisy day in the office and an even noisier evening with my Kids :-) I installed BGS for the graphic features.

I do not experience any ingame problems. I was just curious. I had another problem with auto-crosshair.oxp, that I solved. I had a look in the logfile in that process and became interested. That's all. I'll try classic shipsets, though 90% of all the ships do not get near enough to see any details anyway.

You only need Snoopers for the mapping part of BGS (the spacelanes and sectors) - the rest runs fine.

I guess it would make sense to get rid of that log message then.

I downloaded that oxp from the Wiki, it was 1.0.4, which has a bug - Crosshair often remains in the "on target" mode after a kill, making it useless. I had a look in the thread here on the board, which confirms the bug. Thread says latest version is 1.1.1, but the link also leads you to download the 1.0.4. verson. Eventually I managed to install 1.1.1 with the in-game oxz manager. Mabye, the Wiki and the thread could make a reference to that.

The text in the ingame oxz manager is really short, It suggested, that it deals with sound effects only? Some Spacelanes are displayed in my game - without snoopers.

I updated the download link in the wiki, thanks.
