BBC sold to America

BBC as in all the great British tv shows.
Watched latest Doctor Who..
Or was it X-Files?
All done in the dark with torches, what a crock.
Almost constantly recharging weapons without firing them?
As bad as their shotguns and hand guns in other shows, Chamering rounds without firing or ejecting previously chambered round.
Or my fav american sound effect;
Tyre screech on dirt and grass
Ah well, 50 odd years of one of the best shows, at an end, the yanks bought it and as per, stuff it up.
Goodbye Doctor.
Wonder if UK folks still have to pay BBC license?

Yep, about £150 per year, I think it is - can't be certain as I don't own/use a television.

WOW 150 quid, was less than half that last time I was there.
About $300, What I pay to re-new my drivers license every 5 years.
When I came here (Australia) 1990. Had to re-new my trade license yearly too, back then it was about $500.
You know license is just another TAX.
TAX = Taking All x

You're lucky! I stopped looking television in 2003, but I still have to pay, because in Germany it doesn't matter if you own a TV or not. 210 € per year for nothing. Yay!

Aye, I know how it is in Germany, and I suspect it's a model that will eventually be copied here - an internet tax! <spits>

The best model is pay per view. If you're watching a BBC programme then you should pay for it. When ever or where ever you are.

America did not buy the BBC. Disney purchased the rights to air past episodes of Doctor Who:
The seasons picked up by Disney XD first aired from 2006 until 2008.
Is it not wise to get the facts straight before posting about a subject?

I said America as a reference to the trend of style a lot of shows have been picking up. Low or natural lighting and high contrast. They seem to think it adds suspense for some reason. Just makes me switch channel.
Since when have facts mattered? Ever watched the same news item from different sources?
You pay a tv license in Germany even if you don't own a tv?? That's just crazy.
How does the gov justifie that?
But then there have been real silly ones in the UK. At one point bicycles had to be registered same as cars are now.
There already is internet tax. Mine is payed monthly. They call themselves 'Provider'
