Having problems with opening oxz files.
I use Notepad++ but doesn't seem to like opening oxz files.
More than likely finger trouble on my part but it comes up with stuff like this;
PK –WE¡Æ
U} Ù Config/script.js+ÉÈ,ÖËKÌMU [%÷œÄ¢Tg ‘™–™Z¤dÍËURQ–ZTœ™ŸRa¨g †J—$•„ %ÒJó’K@j44ªy¹@æä$V¦égdè—æÍvËÌ)I-ªš4¦nD±S~izF‰_jy0P%¦ PK á•WE,ît› ½ manifest.plistUAKÃ@…Ïú†ôR6V¤T¥ô P*‚e³;IF·;q3©ñ¿›ì6ˆ—™yßÌã}O''YôB%aÈ`³#AÅ_z%g±pÌVmœxÛ—$¼À€´Û„l÷Zb¯ÌÕò<©„Äaœ¸ÁlÆ6éþÓGØhÁŠÃ!NÑÔÚ“iÓÎbk52B/Ü„j0

U} Ù Config/script.jsPK á•WE,ît› ½ « manifest.plistPK z ò
I tried under the language tab and J for java types.
My know how for coding is very limited.
Any ideas would be great.

Re: OXZ tweaking
I use total commander to open the managed oxp's. Unlike the oxp's I download directly to addons I can't open directly with notepad++ or it's just gobbledygook. You will want to change total commander settings to get it to use notepad++ instead of regular notepad to make editing easier. http://www.ghisler.com <--- link to total commander

Re: OXZ tweaking
An OXZ is actually a zipped collection of files.. the gobbledegook is because everything has been compressed.. so you need to unzip it before editing the files.
If you wish to re-zip it afterwards, be sure not to zip the "container" folder created when you unzipped it, but only the files contained inside it. Then change the filename extension from .zip to .oxz
Edit: Total Commander works for this because it can look inside zipped files and allows you to work directly on the individual files inside them.

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Re: OXZ tweaking
If I unzip the oxz then tweak, can I then save the new file unziped to a new folder and call it .oxp?

Re: OXZ tweaking
Yes, call it .oxp and pop it in AddOns the old-fashioned way.

Yes. The next version of Oolite can even unzip, rename, and move it to 'AddOns' for you.Alex wrote:If I unzip the oxz then tweak, can I then save the new file unziped to a new folder and call it .oxp?

We released 1.82 a few months back with that feature - just select the OXZ in the installed list and press 'x'.Diziet Sma wrote:Yes.
