Yep, bug found and fixed, v3.6.1 is now available.

The problem was tricky to find. First, as you noted, you had to disable the overlays, and then save the game. Then, if you reloaded the game with the HDBG OXP installed, you'd get the error.

Update should fix the issue.

Sorry to be a pain - just wondering if it would be possible to extend XenonUI to also cover the in-game Expansions Manager, explaining what the colours mean, and how to extract OXZs into the AddOns folder.

Xenon UI 3.7 (plus a version uplift to all the resource packs) should be in the Expansion manager shortly. The main change for this version is the inclusion of a custom background for the Expansion Manager, displaying the default shortcut keys on the left, and a colour translation panel on the right.

Hey, I use the Xenon. I like it a lot from it's theme tune to the neat little boxes fro everything on your ship monitor interface. Just like a t.v. dinner (how they use to make them with each food type confined to it's own area separated from the other food type if you understand that analogy...)

Just one thing, Is that it's not compatible with a lot of the other oxps which keep swapping out it's neat interface with their own or the default interface. Mostly the Miscelleneous ones...

is there a way to fix this or just don't go near them...

I’ve not found this.

Only with Littlebear’s Galactic Almanac which once you have selected a surround in its preferences, then suppresses all others. No selection, no problem.

And with Wildeblood’s newest versions of Docked HUDs. In my views his Docked HUDs are ideal for a newcomer to Oolite while Xenon is better once one has played a little and might then need to tweak the F8 screen, for example.

Are there other oxps I’m ignoring?

Xenon UI should be overriding any backgrounds set by OXP's with it's own. It would be useful to know which OXP's are still showing their own backgrounds, as there might be scenarios I haven't catered for.

Galactic Almanac. SSSupressing all others. I think I may try that.

Docked HUDs. What does it do exactly? Somebody else (Using the Saint for their Avatar picture) said that was culprit for another problem I had.

Besides, I did get the space combat rank of Deadly in the original game of Elite. Just a bit of trivia, a so called friend of mine took my spare copy of Elite (The floppy disk version...) and perhaps the monitor cable for my (It's actually my dad's, but I got more usage out of it...) C64 and then told me about it many years later. He said he got to Elite, when I only got to Deadly. However, we both never completed any missions beyond the one about the Constrictor. There supposed to be stack of them before you reach Elite. I have Cheat Guide, which says so. But I never use that book any way. I don't know if my acquaintance ever really took my Monitor Cable, but it was what prevented me from ever finishing my game. I eventually brought another monitor cable because now internet in common usage and gave it to my dad to hang on to along with his C64. But I think either sold it or lost it.

Now, I'm thinking about getting this for either my dad or for myself... https://commodorehistory.com/commodore- ... -computer/

However, I now reckon Elite the Classic game will never even be half as interesting as Oolite has become...

Just the OXPs that are showing their backgrounds would do.

Tell what I'm doing. On my main PC. I'm reinstalling the OXPs after My game crashed while it was updating the load back then. After that i could get the game to restart without removing all the OXP's.

Now, I'm towards the end of Activities, now...

On my Gaming Lap-Top. Where I have also installed this game. I have way more OXPs installed and on that computer is where I am having that difficulty with the Xenon U.I.

I will give you that list sometime later, when I get back on my lap top...

BTW, less mods installed or more mod installed.

Which is better?

Depends on what you want, I suppose. To relive the original classic elite, less mods (and probably just the strict game in say v1.77.1 or older) unless you want the extra old elite versions ships too.

Ditto for enjoying the subtleties of the vanilla game (they are there - just not very visible. But easily pushed further underground by oxps.

And… more oxps naturally engender more conflicts…

Sets specific HUD files (the simplest possible, with e.g. just a big reminder to refuel) only while you're docked.

And, resets to the default hud.plist when you launch (that's the behaviour you previously complained about).

Mick has said nothing that suggests he's got the version currently here on the BB. If he's using the version available from within Oolite, he should simply delete it.

Change the commodities ordering, and/or leave out/select the commodities listed. See the “F8 page (Commodity Markets)” wiki page for a list of the 12 possibilities.
