Is it expected that if I dock in a ball-shaped-asteroid type Rock Hermit, and I leave the dock, it has changed to a longer-than-wide-asteroid with a long tunnel entrance before the dock itself? I am feeling that this is killing the atmosphere a bit...?

If you have multiple rock hermit OXPs installed, and you save and reload the game while docked, there's no guarantee it'll use the same hermit model on reload. Other than that case, it shouldn't even be possible for the ship model to change while you're docked there...

Well, it just happened to me. But I can not reproduce it, whenever I leave the very same Rock Hermit now (from Savegame), it is the ball-shaped-asteroid I docked with.

I have a couple of OXPs installed in my Oolite 1.80 which also fiddle with the asteroids like oolite.oxp.LittleBear.AsteroidStorm.oxz ... but to be sure I just post which OXPs where active while I encountered this:

That would be my suspect. Are you familiar with the stations in Anarchies? Was that what you launched from?

I am quite sensitive to bright light, and the glare makes it even worse. That's why I try to filter it down. Works quite good

No I am not really familiar with that. But the system I was in was Isence (Multigovernment, not an Anarchy).

The longer than wide hermit asteroid you are finding is from shadydeepspaceships.oxz. And Wildeblood's suspicion is spot on as I used (with credit given) the salvage gang from Anarchies OXP for the Rock Hermit.
