I'm wondering...

Since the one time I found a Rock Hermit, I didn't have a scanner targeting enhancement, I'm wondering if I were to identify a asteroid that had a Rock Hermit in it would it tell me or would it just say asteroid?

Thanks I didn't want to waste my time looking at all the asteroids in a field to find out that it doesn't tell you, but it looks like I wasn't wasting my time.

With a little practice, you can see rock hermits from a distance – they’re much bigger than normal asteriods. If it doesn’t register on the targeting thing when it fills up about a third of the space between the cross hairs, it’s a rock hermit - or a pirate cove.
They’re easiest to find flying from the witchpoint to the planet in a straight line.

I remember the first time I stumbled across a Rock Hermit...
Gas costs a lot there

one quick way, if no other ships are around, is hyperjumping right through an asteroid field, while looking out the rear window. The Hermit can usually be spotted (since its dock faces the planet).

Hmm. Didn't think of that one. I learned to recognize them because you could always see them even when you weren't in an asteroid field. They are that big. But to each his own way, I guess.

Yes, but gold, platinum and gem-stones cost only a fraction of there price at normal stations.

I never did figure out why a missile will mass lock your drive, but a rock hermit won't.

the anti-exposure cage that contains a Rock Hermit to protect from the radiation, also suppresses the energy spill that causes mass-lock.

Sorry, sometimes I'm a complete idiot. You're right, it's perfectly obvious. Should have though of that one myself.

Also a quick way to die!
The slow way being:
masslock to a planet, fly towards a station, without fuel, at this point you can go for some tea, but be back within 15 minutes or you might miss it!
