Maybe your savegame store something old? If I start a new commander the name and cost show well. Try travel to another systems until you find another miner.

This is from Miner Cobra v1.3 from the download manager.

It would appear to be that the definition of color on line 176 is commented out.

I'm running the 64-bit windows version of Oolite that I downloaded over the weekend.
