Oolite Bulletins

I have installed a handful of OXPs (Your Ad Here, extra ships etc...) but when I load my saved Commander profile, I lose all the added features. Am I right in presuming that I need to start with a new Commander in order to keep these recently added OXPs functioning?

Installing OXPs should have no effect on your current save.

What Cody said...there should be no effect. Check you are not using Strict Mode as this disables OXPs, and if you are still stuck, post your Latest Log here and we can see if that tells us anything.

If you open your savegame file in a text editor, does it contain this? or this?

Thanks guys... I'll have to check when I get home from work this evening.

I guess you lost equipment-based features: if you saved your game when an OXP was not installed then the core game removed the corresponding EQ_ lines from the file, so if you put back the OXP then your ship still missing the equipment.

It had...
<key>strict</key>
<integer>1</integer>
...in the save file. I changed the integer value to 0 and it's working fine now thanks.

Cool! If you haven't got it already, there is one OXP I'd recommend above all others -  Random Ship Names!

I've installed that one thanks Cody. It really makes the Ooniverse seem more alive.

I recommend Broadcast MFD, send taunt to the target is big fun.
