Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jolly
Posted: Tue Sep 09, 2014 2:42 am
My last effort for a few weeks - off to fulfill a Bucket List item. What passes for normal transmission will recommence on my return
"Welcome back to 'Jameson2084.004', whether you’re blue, tan, skinned, scaled, trading or flying the other side of a Viper’s radar; I’m the Milky Way Kid. Glad to have your company on the late shift.
I heard a rumour recently, out of Maises in the northeast quadrant. Seems like one of the local um… organisations were taken to task a little while ago by a vigilante group looking for a bit of rep and flying some new kit. Made somewhat of an impact in pirate circles by all accounts. Not that I’ve a problem with it, I’m all for safer space lanes. I guess we’ll just have to wait for the T’isla Chronicle to feed us something more official.
Coming up next, a request for one of the galaxies top glamour bands of the eighties. You remember the period, big hair, big egos, big lasers (light-shows that is) and even bigger speaker stacks. I remember Hotblack Desiato back then describing it as a challenge.
There were quite a few musicians coming out of the Pulsar Worlds at the time, 'The Boss', 'Whitney SpaceRace', all following in the footsteps of 'Frank’s Valley and the Beraanxe Boys'.
So here we go with a Bon Jolly classic. If you’ve started flying the wrong side of the space lanes, remember it’s only a matter of time. Someone’s going to figure out the bounty’s worth it and you’ll be…"
Wanted Dead or Alive
It's all the same, only the ship names change
Every day it seems we're blasting away
Out in space where the vacuum is so cold
I'd fly all night just to fill my hold
[Chorus]
I'm a pirate, a dura-steel horse I ride
I'm wanted dead or alive
Wanted dead or alive
Sometimes I sleep, sometimes it's not for days
And the ships I shoot, they explode in many ways
Sometimes you tell the day
By the cargo that you glean
And times when you're alone, all you do is dream
[Chorus]
I'm a pirate, a Wolf II I fly
I'm wanted dead or alive
Wanted (wanted) dead or alive
[Sam “The Axeman” Borer Solo and Chorus]
I'm a pirate, a Wolf II I fly
I'm wanted dead or alive
Wanted (wanted) dead or alive
I fly these lanes, a charged Ingram fore and tail
I play for keeps, there’s no future if I fail
I been everywhere, not stayin’ ‘til I fall
I've seen a million credits and stolen them all
[Chorus]
‘Cause I'm a pirate, a Wolf II I fly
I'm wanted dead or alive
I'm a pirate, I got deep space on my side
But I'm wanted (wanted) dead or alive
And I ride, dead or alive
I still fly, dead or alive
Dead or alive
Dead or alive
Dead or alive
Dead or alive
