Imperial Trader ship ?

Tried out the Imperial Trader ship OXP and was delighted with its speed, maneuverability and, of course, the huge cargo capacity. Was happy with it until the first time I tried to laser a pirate from the rear view! All you see from the rear view is a big, grey blob. Anyone know if this is because of the physical design of the ship or a bug in the OXP? I'm running Oolite 1.77 on Win 7.

Tried 1.80 & loved some of the new features. Played both 1.80 & 1.77 for a week. Went back to 1.77. I liked the balance in it better.

You are probably stuck with the view "inside" the model :wink:

Try changing the rear player view figure in the shipdata.plist to something else

Find this in the player ship entry (since you have NPC and player versions of the two ships in that file):

view_position_aft = "0.0 14.59 -41.43";

and change to for example

view_position_aft = "0.0 14.59 -45.43";

those are the X-Y-Z coordinates of your view in Oolite.

PS;

(Took these numbers from one of my ships, so there is a very big chance the might be different in yours)

I seem to have a vague recollection of a similar problem from the actual Frontier game on one of the ships... and it might have been an Imperial Trader or Courier... blocked view ;)

Thanks, Dertien, changing the aft view from <string>0.0 20.0 -31.0</string> to <string>0.0 15.0 -51.0</string> worked great. It was viewing from inside the center engine! Now, in the aft view, I can just see the exhaust from the center engine near the top of the screen. A great, instant reminder that I am in "aft" view.

Imperial Trader works fine with 1.91 ( i was just able to buy one )

and i use for the enemies behind me

now we have two Versions of the Imp-Trader

-the one from the "Imperial Trader OXP" ( "round" style / less cargo / more speed )
( my current ship )

- the other one from "ZZ_GrOovy_bbs_imptrader.oxp" ( "stealth" style /more cargo / less speed )
( this one needs no tweak for "aft-view" )

--- i have loaded both oxp's ( renamed "Imperial Trader" to "BBS Imperial Trader" in the 2nd )

both seems to run without problems in 1.91

Hi

the "BBS Imp Courier" also works

it has very less cargo (15to )
high speed (450)
"stealth" design

i have also loaded that oxp (renaming the ship to"BBS Imperial Courier" )

Hello

i've tried to get it work correct

--- but i was not able to fix this

Problem:
the (BSS-Courier) ships often attacked me (they are"offender")
i killed them -- and then i become "offender"
the "kills" are counted - but i get no "bounty"
( without message ( GalCop doesn't want this)

What i have tried to fix this:
i looked to the config files of "Rockhopper" ( and some other)
and tried to adapt this to BBS-Courier
==>> no npc ships anymore :-(

i can buy the "BBS-Courier" -- the"player-ship" works fine
but no "npc" .....

but one thing i have learned
i now can add ships to the "F4"-screen ( show "ship data" )
-- that was very simple ( adding a file "shiplibrary.plist" to /config // with simple editing)

----------------------------------------
i'd like to have all the imperial-ships ( BBS- and the newer ones.
