Main planet vs others.

At least on my system the main planet in each system does not look nearly as interesting as the other planets and moons I added on. They all kinda come across as textureless gas planets rather than world's with seas and coasts... Am I missing an add-on?

That doesn't sound good :(

Might be a good idea to post a screenshot for others to see if something's amiss.

Failing that, have you tried Povray Planets?

...oh, and if you're using Additional Planets then are you aware that it doesn't touch the main planets? (We recommend Povray Planets for that 8). )

Heh I'm getting too reliant on OXZs already.

Hooray for Povray!

The additional planets add-ons aren't nearly that big, are they? Yikes! 600MB for one galaxy worth?

They're worth it if you've got the space.

There was an early version that reused the textures for different galaxies... if I remember :?

Oh all 8 galaxies are there, but separate downloads (understandable, you'd probably just want to have your current galaxy loaded). But it seems that if the different planets and moons don't take up as huge an amount the same idea could be used for the core set without as much space being used.

Still, I have the space and it's worth it. Much nicer looking :D Hopefully someone will OXZ it for ease of use by newcomers.

It's not so bad when you realise that that's less than 2.4MB per planet..
