OXP Selection

Hi all,

first i want to thank again the developers and the contributors for this great game. I have picked it again after 2 years and i see it is getting better and better. I am anticipating the 1.80 release with great excitement.
I don't know if this has been mentioned before but is it possible/easy to select/activate the oxps you want to use from inside the game and with different settings for different commanders?
As i understand you have to add and remove manualy the oxps from the addon folder to have this effect now.

Not yet, and it's not straightforward to do: if you change which OXPs are loaded then you end up needing to rebuild most of Oolite's data structures - it's barely faster than restarting anyway.

It might get looked at again at some point as the tutorial would really benefit from being able to apply a restriction so only certain OXPs could be loaded in that scenario.

Yes, you should solve it at folder level. You can choose from more way: symlinks, switch between complete AddOns or multilevel .oxp folders, or the most simple brute force way: install Oolite more times into different folders and use separated start icons for each commander.

Well i have different addons folders renamed after each commander and when i want to use one i make it the default.
