Cleaning legal status became too easy?

Is it good? I remember in original Elite getting clean was much harder than a question of small fine..

Depends if you want to spend the cash on the fine or not.
Otherwise it's a matter of buying a fuel scoop and a few trips to the stars

I mis-read that as a 'few trips to the STAIRS'. I was thinking, Hmmm... so the Ooniverse's police force also has notoriously dangerous staircases which suspects seem to accidentally repeatedly fall down and get black eyes...
