Passenger Ship

I was thinking. Is there a good ship for passenger carrying? I mean a ship that is preferably fast, good for fighting through to wherever is needed, and has enough space for a passenger berth? I don't see much of this in the original ships. The Cobra MkIII is fits this description and is great, but it might be nice for a little variation. My souped-up Adder is fun, but I will be glad to upgrade when I have the money. And the Asp doesn't have a cargo hold. Are there some good OXP ships that aren't game changers? I feel like vanilla Oolite doesn't have a great variety in ships as far as player options go. I mean, does anyone really fly in a Star Boat?

The Python is a pretty good ship for its price.

It is indeed! I have spent a decent amount of time in one. It is a little cumbersome, however. I would love something small, maybe even as small as a 10 ton hold, but also fast and powerful

~10T hold, small, fast, powerful... maybe you're looking for a Fer-de-lance?

Asp Explorer (Z-ships) does have a cargo hold, and with with Large Cargo Bay you can fit a passenger berth in it :).
Same applies to Sunracer (Far Arm ships).

The Wolf Mk II is also a good ship - though it's flown by some very disreputable pilots.

I've heard rumours of this ship, I'm surprised I didn't look into it! Definitely on my wishlist now. I got in a bit of a financial crisis and couldn't afford a Cobra Mk II at this point, but I am working on fixing that!

I use a veloce e appunita MvM Veloce e Appuntita OXP ver. 1.0

Date: 4 November, 2012
Author:Knotty

Installation and use:

Copy the OXP to your add ons Folder The Marziani verdi Martelli Veloce e Appuntita is the utimate super Grant tourer for exhilarating performace and unparralled comfort. It's smooth lines hide the raw power of the most powerfull sublght engines placed in a spaceframe, and it's tentacle crafted cabin ensures absolute luxary wherever you go. a multitude of colour options with a high spec of standard features (*convertable option no longer avaliable) This ship is a grand tourer in the vain of the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, Maserati GranTurismo, Aston Martin DB9, good looks, loads of power, fast of the line but not something to chuck round a corner, somewhat lacking in storage, and an arm and a leg to buy and own. The design is inspired by the clean lines Porsche design boat, with a hypersonice wave rider lower hull

You could also look at one of my OXPs, the Arachnid Mark 1, follow the link on my signature strip for the Wiki page and download link.

It's a ship based on an Elite style and is similar in specification to a Cobra Mark 3 (A little less cargo space but slightly faster. Full specs are on the Wiki page).

This is all too true … your genuine quality flies a Wolf Mk II SE. :D

Maybe someone ought to design a proper passenger ship OXP with non-removeable passenger cabins? ALA the Orca or Dolphin from ED.

Damn! I forgot to add the SE suffix to Doc's Wolf Mk II.

I have to say, the old BCC takes some beating. Not particularly fast, more of a luxury liner than a black cab, but a whole heap of convertible cargo space ... and those 7 energy banks are not to be sniffed at.
