A dead Thargoid is scoopable, becomes 'Alien item'

I don't know about Woma fuel pods, but you can certainly scoop thargons. They turn into 1 tonne alien items. Sometimes though the bounty for shooting them (50cr) is more than you'll get for selling them once scooped.

I believe aegidian is thinking about a method for capturing abandoned ships (search the bb for "remora").

No. For scooping you get nothing, you have to sell the Alien Items to make any money.

It depends on where you sell it, prices go in the 22-56 cr range, best of all is to sell 'em to a Behemoth if you've got the OXP

So if there is no Behemoth nearby, it is best to blast them.

I've seen prices around 80 somewhere, but yeah, if you can't really be bothered, just shoot them.

I've seen normal system prices for Alien Items as high as 65.x credits. I believe the higher tech systems tend to pay more for them, though I can't prove it. I tend to scoop those items (not quite proficient enough to go Thargoid hunting yet) and save them up until I run into a Behemoth. Of course, flying a Python with plenty of cargo space helps.
