My ship was hit so many times it trade-in value has been decreased half or so!
And it moves noticeably slower than new. No one offers me maintenance service, however, even on highest tech level planets. What can i do?

It helps to know the version of Oolite and which OS you're using. There was a problem with Maintenance not being offered with some versions.

1.62-3, Linux, installed from binary package.

It was - a couple of times - but then not anymore.

My ship keeps decaying and still no maintenance offered, hundreds of light years without service, it definitely slowed down :-(

A decrease in speed isn't one of the effects of no maintenance.

Hmm, then what are they? I see used ships for sale have maximum speed less than new ones.

Yes i'd want to know what the maintenance actually does...

Actually most of my last week income was nullified by ship degradation. I did not care beacuse i thought it could be repaired for a few thousand credits, but..

It's getting ridiculous
241K cr is trade-in value for Cobra MkIII with *everything*?
NEU (!!!), MSE, ML, Galactic Hyperdrive, heat shielding, all targeting and navigation options, large cargo bay, passenger compartment, energy bomb, escape pod etc etc?

No one ever offered such a ship that cheap. It probably costs like MkI now and definitely cheaper than MkIIx.

I upgraded from 1.62 to 1.64dev1 but still unable to get maintenance. Not even on TL15 planets, nor on Behemoth - never!

In this situation it might be useful if you emailed me your saved-game (which has info in it about depreciation).

Hmmm... I think i'm seeing this too.

Boa Class Cruiser, sporting fuel-leaks more than I've ever experienced before on any oher ship, three times so far.

though savefile sez:

Code: Select all

<key>ship_trade_in_factor</key>
	<integer>86</integer>
So that's way before maintenaince is due, or am I sorely mistaken? Wasn't that supposed to happen around =<75 ?

And here's your problem:

Code: Select all

	<key>ship_desc</key>
	<string>cobra3M2-player</string>
	...
	<key>ship_trade_in_factor</key>
	<integer>91</integer>
The ship is worth 91% of its fully-maintained value which is unfortunately rather less than a new cobra Mk 3 because this is a 'rusty' from one of murgh's packs of pre-loved equipment. A case of you-get-what-you-pay-for.
