Noob questions

Hello
I've started playing oolite a couple days ago, and i'm quite enjoying it. I do have a few questions though.
-How do you properly use the radar? When ever i align myself with ships on the radar, im usually facing the wrong direction completely.
-What is a good, cheap ship for fighting pirates and other npc ships? an adder?
-Are they're any bounty hunter missions native to oolite or do i need to download an oxp for that?
(Im sure these questions are asked all the time on the forums
)
Thanks

Welcome supernewtable in the Oolite community!
To practice with [wiki]IFF_System[/wiki] try to locate the
Coriolis Station: find the green lollipop behind you (means below the center of the scanner) after undock. Fly straight about a half minute to almost reach a
buoy then stop and pull up the nose of the ship: you will se the green dot will be coming from below to up on the scanner. When the stem of the lollipop reach zero length then the center of the station will be before you. The disk of the scanner represent the plain of your ship and the target is positioned at the end of the lollipop stem, above or below the disk as much as long the stem.
An
Adder is too weak to start your fight in the early core game compared with the
Cobra MkIII (see Energy banks). More importantly you must buy good
Equipments into any ship to secure your victory.
You can read about
missions but in the core game you must achieve 256 victory before get real hunting. The most popular OXP hunting mission is
Random Hits but I suggest to complete
Lave Academy first.

My pleasure (better to give than receive you know), especially if you share your experiences later.

Hi supernewtable, and welcome.
You should have a guide which comes with the game in the download, which is invaluable. The
Wiki is the font of all Oolite knowledge and is very useful. And if all else fails, ask here!
