What a Thargoid looks like!

I've always wondered what the dreaded Thargoid looks like.
I don't think anyone has ever seen or met one outside of their Hexgonal shaped ships.
I know from thee description found on one of the wiki that they are more like Preying Mantis's than Spiders. Everyone should know that Spiders are not Insectoid, but Arachnoids, but I guess there relationship with Mantis's makes them Insectoid anyway.
Anyway, when the game
Spore came out in 2007, I brought the game and decided to create my own version of a
Thargoid! and looking back at it now I'm not terribly pleased with it.
I was wondering if any of you had better versions. Perhaps you have drawn pictures of them and can put up here for show.

I always thought that the aliens in the film version of
Starship Troopers might be close to Thargoid...

I always thought beetles, being the most predominant life-form on Earth, and therefore perhaps similarly adaptable types throughout the universe, that they would be the most likely to evolve an intelligent species, plus they're pretty amazing when you look in to it, and come with as much fantastic colour variety as you would wish, and that this beautiful variety of garishness being attractive to them goes also somewhat to explaining their variably garish vehicles

I've always though of them as spiders, rather than insects, myself - if only for the eight-sided nature of their ships. The canon is "bugs", but I feel that spiders have been rather under-represented in SF over the years. There are loads of insectile aliens, and hardly any arachnid ones, which is a bit odd. Maybe because most spiders are solitary here on earth? Although there are social spiders ...

Yep,
insectoid is indeed canon... and so is this:
This highly technologically advanced insectoid race is also at war with 17 other space-going life-forms

Geraldine I think your latter Beatle's lyrics don't mention 'Parking meters' though...

I stand corrected maybe the Beatles are
Thargoids after all, with their strange rock formations in the sky? ::shrugs::
