I juste realized that my supercobra has a cloaking device. I must've bought it already fitted 'cause i never did the mission. How do I use it?

I got mine by scooping an "unususal cargo container"

you activate/deactivate it with the zero key above P, not the numeric keypad. It doesn't seem to drain the energy banks when activated like classic elite, but there again my soooopercobra does have 7.

I'm under the impression that the cloaking device sucks. I become intermittent but this doesn't stop people from harassing my iron ass. Is it supposed to work badly or am i wrong in something

Yes, I'm only partially convinced by the cloak.

I've turned it on and still get ships firing at me. I've tried moving away from the spot where I cloaked, and sitting still in case they can see the exhaust.

It does draw power from the energy banks.

However, it's still fun to turn it on and then de-cloak behind an Anaconda escorted by Cobra Mk1s, and then lay into them all....

Giles, can you let us know exactly what it does? Visible 50% of the time?

It's supposed to break and stop target lock.

The best way to use it is in conjunction with the scanner. Since red blips and missiles have target lock, going cloaked SHOULD turn them all yellow (and disrupt the missile).

That said,it's been a long while since I played using the cloak, so the code for it may be misbehaving.

So being cloaked all the way or beforehand doesn't yeld any significant advantage

How do you get it?

Is it just a random event when scooping?

Does this only happen in Galaxy 5 as the Wiki says?

Just finished Deposed and was thinking of heading back to Galaxy 1 to do Black Baron.

only in Galaxy 5, yes.

Be sure to scoop everything except trumble cannisters ;)

How can you tell Trumble cannisters?

I got caught earlier with one but due to heat shielding I couldn't get rid of it

I've heard that the trumble canisters have a picture of a trumble on them, and a label that says, "Have you got your Trumble yet?"

I've picked up several of those canisters but never got Trumbles yet... Perhaps a problem in the PC version...?

A trumble canister has a chance of infecting, on the order of ten or twenty percent as I recall.
