Randomizing texture sets

Well, I'm thinking about such thing: is it possible to make script, that will randomly load textures from various textures sets? For example for ships - one ship has texture from Smivs texture set, other from NeoLite and so on....is it possible or has someone mad such thing already?

Yes and no. It is certainly possible to randomise textures via script, but only for the same ship model. The problem is that the different models used have different diffuse_maps (textures) and one model's texture will not 'fit' another model, so you couldn't apply a texture from a Neolite ship to a Griff or Smivs ship.
The closest thing to what you want I think would be randomising the ships spawned from a variety of installed shipsets, and this is already possible. For example if you have the 'addition' versions of Griff's ships and my ships installed you will get a mix of core ships, Griffs and mine.
