Welcome aboard, Commander!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Helloo.. I'm NewtSoup ( Ruth ) New to Oolite but not Elite, I played the original way back when I was about, well I won't give that away but it was 1984 and I had an Acorn BBC B with DFS.

Recently made the (permanent) switch to Linux but still very much a gamer. Sadly ED doesn't work on Linux (yet ) So I'm here for the forseeable future :). Installed Oolite last night.

Grow up? Never!

I've even indoctrinated my son into gaming. Sadly he doesn't like the Elite style games, I'll keep on encouraging him though.

Hi NewtSoup,
The great thing about Oolite compared to ED is you can configure Oolite the way you want to play it. Simply by enabling expansions, making your own or joining the development of core game.

Hope to see you around even if ED will come to Linux, what I wish everyone.

Cheers!

After 2 and a half years, i thought i'd pop my head round the door and say "Hey you guyz!"
Yes, its been that long since i posted.

So i'm re-introducing myself.

Hi, Zark Montor, pleased to eat you, i mean pleased to make meat out of you, oh bollocks!

nice to see things are running so well here, Elite Dangerous not as much of a draw as everyone thought, Huh?

anyway, nice job on 1.86! The 64bit Linux distribution runs very well on Peppermint 8, even on a crusty old Dell Studio XPS
Laptop i had buried in a box for 2 years. runs almost 100% with shaders and extra detail, so i'm well pleased!

Thanks you wonderful people.

ZM
I have returned! Less annoying and still enjoying the mighty Oo!
1.86 on self reconned dell studio xps thru Pep 8/64. Runs very well.
Nice to see its still well supported. Oo, Suits you, Sir!
