My first galactic misjump

Hello everyone,

I just had quite an experience while trying out the galactic misjump OXP (which, by the way, is excellent! Well done to cim for such a great idea). I had decided to see what a full thargoid battlefleet looked like, even if I needed to die soon after. So I launch from the station, fire up the galactic hyperdrive, and start spinning. While I wait, I ponder the mystery of why the Galactic hyperdrive takes the same time to prepare as the normal hyperdrive....

I soon find myself in a kaleidoscope of lasers, on the outskirts of a huge battle. It is truly awe inspiring :) I proceed to kill a couple of isolated thargoids, and wonder how I was going to get out. After looking for a behemoth to no avail, I decide to see what the witchspace drive does... after all, I had most of my fuel! I end up misjumping close to a planet, still in the middle of a navy-thargoid battle! After killing a couple more thargoids, I find myself surrounded my a few too many robot fighters (which, by the way, seem to continue attacking even after the mothership explodes, indefinitely in 1.77) I see that my galactic hyperdrive has repaired itself, so I immediately set it going - when under fire from 4-5 tharglets, my military shields don't last very long! They managed to deplete 2 of my 4 energy banks in the time it took to warm up the hyperdrive, but then I was out and safe, with 5 thargoid mothership kills under my belt!

... Or so I thought. When I emerge in G4, with 1/2 energy, practically no shields, lasers hotter than the sun and no witchspace fuel, and contemplating my amazingly lucky escape, I see a pirate in an OXP ship, the name of which I have now forgotten - it seemed pretty ironassed. The sort that I could maybe just about manage, if I was incredibly lucky.

And next to it, a time raider.
