Good point:
- I suggest different equipment prices/techlevels for every playership.
So that an outdated pyton could be upgraded at a relatively lowtech world.
A new highperformance ship only at the higher tech shipyards, also expensive.
In between all the general ships.
Larger ships should need more powerfull, thus expensive shield booster generators, injectionsystem, etc
Berths, electronics, lasers, fuelscoops etc should not vary greatly in price amongst ships. (if at all)
-Also I feel that the refuel should be more of a financial drain on bigger ships.
-Slightly fluctuating prices for upgrades at docks?
-perhaps even lower prices for lowtech at hightech planets?

I’d like ships to have a certain amount of equipment space, and some equipment types coming in different sizes. For instance, a big ship might need a larger shield booster than a fighter would to make a significant difference, while a small ship could only just fit a medium-large shield booster if stripped down to a pea shooter and a single energy bank. Bulky, expensive heavy weapons and cooling systems seem a natural consequence. Of course, it could be argued that this is too Escape Velocity.

Yes. But then, this might lead people to try to think logically about witchjumps, which will cause more people to question the seven LY thing. On the third hand (or is that second head?) bigger ships do make bigger wormholes.

7LY worth of fuel is 7 LY worth of fuel, no matter what sort of ship you are in.
It isn't petrol, and the engines don't have a higher consumption rate the bigger the ship.
