Elite Encounters: The Elite Dangerous RPG

Post by Selezen »

Hi everyone. After weeks of consultation, research and preparation, I've finally launched my own kickstarter.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sel ... e-universe

I'm aiming to write and produce a pen and paper roleplaying game (RPG) set in the Elite: Dangerous universe. Frontier have agreed that it will be a suitable fit for the Writer's Pack pledge and that's what I'm aiming for.

I'd be really grateful for support, pledges and publicity from anyone that can manage any of those.

Wish me luck, guys, and thanks for the support that has helped me believe I can do this. :-)

Nervous as hell, though!!

Good luck, Sel... I've posted a link to your Kickstarter in the Elite: Dangerous thread on SSC.

Tweeted.

Will back. If only I didn't have to buy my car insurance for both cars this week...

Would love to write a short story for you...

We shall see, may have to get creative with my finances.

I will have no chance of getting this played, but I have made a modest pledge. I have also popsted adverts on the comments pages of the E: D KS, and the one of the books that is still running - let's see if any of them suck folks in.

Not playing RPGs these days either - as I've said previously - but I promised to pledge and now I have. I hope this gets through! :)

Haven't played an RPG since university, but I'll have a go. Selezen, you look almost, but not entirely, completely different from how I imagined you. :-)

Facebooked and tweeted...

Cheers,

Drew.

It's been many years since I dallied with the dice, but I'll stick up a modest sum ... this could be an interesting way of influencing what E:D eventually puts in place on the planets - what sort of hijinks players might get up to when they're not trading and dogfighting ...

Best of luck.. will back it when I can.
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Out of interest, what did you think I looked like?? :-)

Thanks for the support, everyone. And THANKS for the pledges and for spreading the word! The total's already above £1600!!

Michael Brookes included me in his latest update for Elite: Dangerous today as well, and I think that's brought LOADS of people in. I've got to say that he's been awesome - he's helped me put the KS together and made sure it all fits into the writer's pack and he even wants to do an interview for his blog! I feel like a celebrity!

I have good feelings about this so far - I can't believe the level of support on the forums and on the comments.

I have my email account wired into my iPhone and it's buzzing at me almost constantly. And for once it's not annoying...

Wow. There's positive feedback then, 20,000 feet up, there's that.

I may have to register with SSC just to say thanks.

Great start for the Kickstarter, Selezen! The last time I played a pen and paper RPG must have been some 25 years ago and I don't see me picking this up again, but my support you have 8)

You're too modest. He made this update specifically for you. :D

Going to pledge now.
