Just watched a previously never seen interview between Sir Patrick Moore and Mark Lawson on BBC4, it would seem Patrick (an avid musician and composer himself) had dinner with Stanley and suggested the Blue Danube as the Docking Music...

If that's true...

...then...

...that's why Elite and therefore, Oolite has The Blue Danube as our docking music...

...how awesome is that!?

I just finished watching that on Sky+. Very interesting, and the link is quite likely as Arthur C Clarke (the author of the original story) and Patrick were friends for many years.

Saw that, and a really good interview it was too, although the Man did seem reluctant to touch on much of his life, but that's fair enough I suppose. I was unaware of the Blue Danube connection before seeing it as well, but that's great to know
