Just to tease you all, here's a couple of screenshots of my work in progress version of OOLiteInfo 3d.

Apologies for the links, Photobucket seem to have done away with their clickable thumbnail thing.
Not far from a release on this, it's using VPython, my new favourite toy.

Looking fantastic maaarcooose
. Between OoliteInfo and PhantorGorth's project, the community is going to have two excellent maps of the eight! Keep up the great work

Random question.
When I release this, would everyone prefer to have a windows exe version available, or just have to install Python and VPython?
On windows, this runs better in the 64 bit python, by py2exe doesn't like 64 bit.
On Mac you have to use 32 bit anyway, unless you install another version somewhere else, which I'm looking into doing.
On Linux, I assume it should work with the 64 bit version, but I've not tested it on Linux yet.
General consensus?

When we are talking about end-user products, my personal preference for Windows is executable. The user just needs to download and run an application, they should not have to be bothered with installing dependencies.

As an end-user (dumb pilot), I couldn't agree more with the esteemed Admiral.

Indeed. And contrary to popular myth, even us penguins actually like things which just 'work out of the box'.

One more vote for a windows exe version.

Okay.
Will do. Just need to find a nice installer builder.

The freeware version of
Advanced Installer may do what you're after.
