Gerry Anderson RIP

Post by Smivs »

Gerry Anderson, the creator of Thunderbirds and Fireball XL5 has passed away aged 83.
Starting with Fireball, his TV shows were a major part of my Childhood, introduced me to 'SciFi' and shaped my impression of how 'The Future' should be.

<starts humming that damn tune again>
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Thunderbirds were quite popular in France too at that time.
Although I don't clearly remember all, I have some flashes in my head. It is so far in the past already.

RIP Gerry.

RIP Mr Anderson. Or should I say FAB.

I remember many a Saturday morning watching various Anderson shows.
Always enjoyed Stingray, Thunderbirds and TerraHawks. Later on discovered UFO and others.
I'm probably in a minority if I say that I quite liked Space Precinct.

Oh, God! I'd forgotten about Space Precinct. I really don't remember much about it, but I seem to remember quite liking it as well.

You will never forget it but will not know how to spell it.

TERRAHAWKS, people!! Sheesh.

I am sad to hear about Mr Anderson though. 2012 claims another legend. :-(

Oops. Spelt it right the first time though. :)

Here stands my vote for TerraHawks re-runs.
