Elite:Dangerous ". . .And here the Wheel" (NOVEL)

Post by Jack_H »

Hi Everyone

I've launched my own Elite Dangerous Novel crowd sourcing page:

http://www.indiegogo.com/EliteDangerous ... &a=1801378

Please stop by and have a look, and pledge if it looks interesting.

I know I don't have the fan base that Drew has but I believe I can add something a bit special and a bit unique to Elite lore.

Thanks everyone.

Cheers,

John

Good luck to you, sir. Sadly, the good lady has told me "No More Funding". See, there's this thing called Christmas, and the kids kinda like it, and they will be sad if dad tells them "No presents, you sad little mites, because Elite is far more important." I know. Ridiculous.

Me, I don't understand it. I feed them. I clothe them. I let them eat my electricity. But that apparently isn't enough. They want toys too.

So I apologise. :-(

I didn't realise - Jack H - would that be the "Jack Hamilton" from the EBBS?

I noticed the Frontier E: D page on FB is linking to all the novel Kickstarter appeals (and that page has 21K likes - in fact more likes on FB than pledgers on the KS!)

Just to throw a concept into the air - if Drew gets his £4,500 but E:D doesn't get its £1.25M - there's going to be a "spare" £2,250 in that Kickstarter which won't be needed for Drew to write his next epic.

Subject to approval of the contributors (which could be sought nearer the time if the above scenario looks like coming to pass) then perhaps two officia novel(la)s could be funded?

I'd think that the easier solution would be to use the "extra" for the stretch goals.
Author of Tales from the Frontier - official Elite 4 anthology.
Author of Marcan Rayger adventures - unofficial fan-fic novellas set in the Frontier universe.

Hi guys

Thanks for the interest.

Selezen: Yes, Jack_H here is Jack Hamilton on the old EBBS (I havent' been able to get a good answer yet on why that disappeared) So i'm the HPA guy.
Drew: Oh no, is that a bad connection to make? ;)

Too many names, too many places. . . .

I realise that i'm potentially too late - everyone has been 'jontying' on the main page and drews page and there is not much left in the kitty for my novel, but two official novels woud be twice as cool as one official novel.

Any spare pound lying around would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers guys,

John

Hi.

Just an update for everyone:

There are now two movies on my crowd sourcing page, one akin to a game 'intro' and the other of myself discussing my Elite passion and my writing style.

I have also added links to my youtube channel and my facebook Elite novel page ( http://www.facebook.com/AndHereTheWheel )

We are right on the cusp of 20% funding so come on over and please help me out!

Thanks

John

John,

Just watched it, looks good. The only comment I'd offer is that the graphics keep pixelating - makes it hard to watch - not sure if that is the source video or my internet connection though.

Cheers,

Drew.

Hi Everyone

Thanks for everyone that supported my novel during its funding phase.

Now the exciting phase starts. Writing. I would love to share this journey with you so I have set up a website: www.andherethewheel.co.nz where I will update with story information like characters and places and I plan to start a video diary as well.

come on over and have a look!

Thanks,

John

Hi everyone.

I've been a bit quiet but that's because I'm been busy pounding away at the keyboard making a novel out of nothing.

I'm around 30,000 words in and going strong. If you are interested I have been making progress reports and other updates on my website www.andherethewheel.co.nz and I just made a post reflecting on my history of Elite fan fiction.

I also recently concluded a competition where one lucky reader won a copy of the ebook (when published) for having his entry in the 'name a character' received the most amount of votes.

Come on over and join the fun.

Cheers

John
