-Adds 9 individual ship's cats for purchase.
-Includes some famous SciFi ship's cats and some real life ship's cats.
-Shipboard animals can be purchased at any system station.
-Most cats can be brought with you to a new ship, some may refuse.
-Some are picky about who they fly with.
-You can own as many cats as you want... be like a bag-lady in space.
-They're not all cats.

Updated, license fixed and added to readme.

Well I've gone as far as my limited mental capacity can take me.

The OXP contains nine unique cats atm but this will increase in proportion to inspiration.
It randomly adds a cat from a list of individual animals with a handy script from Commander McLane, each with their own names, descriptions and in some cases minor conditions such as player legal status requirements before they will appear for purchase.
Sometimes there are no cats for sale today.
Your cat/s won't appear for sale while you own him/them.

So far so good, it's not very ambitious but it all seems to work and you basically get a furry beer cooler with a name and history.

I intend to add more cats, names, descriptions and attempt to mix up some more variations on conditions for purchase to reflect the "personality" of the cat.

Where I need major help is here...
Cats can be damaged and repaired like any equipment but I'd really like to see them to have a chance to be randomly destroyed if they become damaged: "Ship's Cat killed in action!" and remove the equipment from the ship.
Like Realistic Damage OXP but just for the cats.

I have no clue how to even begin this but giving the cats a (relatively low)chance to be killed would be a key feature so if anyone could help me out you can have a cat named after you... if you haven't already.

Wow!

I love cats, but I'm unfortunately allergic to them.

Thanks to this OXP I can have one which does not make me tear and which doesn't upset my breathing.

I bought 'ship cat Jones'. So far he does nothing than sitting, spinning and growling in the mess hall of my Chameleon. It is a shy model for sure. 8)
Edited to add. I thought they too would float around in the hud (like our other fluffy friends) making noises. Is this a plan for the future?

...and breeding enthusiastically and eating all your cargo? Let's hope not!

I found Jones very handy.. he knows when there are Thargoids about, even before they're in scanner range.. starts getting all growly and hisses a lot! 8)

he's also highly atypical for a cat.. hasn't tried to lay across my keyboard once, nor poke his head in front of the screen at inconvenient moments..

(one thing you may want to change, sbp.. every time the F3 screen loads, or is refreshed, a different cat appears.. makes it easy to get the cat you want, but perhaps one per Station visit is all that should be offered. (don't ask me how this is done though.. wouldn't have a clue)

Cool idea, but I'll have to pass up on this one; I'll only end up bursting into tears every time one of them takes a laser hit.

:( I hear you Jake... but I'm still going to give this one a try - I'd much rather have cats on my ship than trumbles :P .

A vicious, one-eyed, feline by the name of Lord Effingham has adopted Commander Cody - he growls a lot, but seems to like me!

Ah excellent, that works!
Cats for the more "morally flexible" pilot. :D

I'm very happy the oxp is doing what it should so far.
I know this is a relatively small oxp, but man it's tough work when you are starting out.
Now when I look at big OXPs like the big complex missions that span multiple charts I'm blown away... that's some serious work.

When you see people enjoying it though... that's very cool, now I know why you're all addicted to making them.

Thanks to generous pro guidance the next version will have the licensing done correctly, done!
Then hopefully a couple of features that will polish it off.

It's a very interesting experience and has increased my awe for big complex OXPs to well over 9000.
