Been so busy with Mass Effect: Andromeda lately that both my E: D and EVE Online Alpha pilots get attention on a bi-weekly basis. Staying in touch with this forum though :D
Plus, the Thargoids won't appear too often outside of the bubble, to bother the explorers, would they?

Ahhhh, I am in deeeeeep space and have seen several scouts who appear and then popout as if just seeing who is aroiund... no contact with them tho.

I've got stuck in a loop with EliteD, in that I don't play it often so I try an re-learn the keys by playing through the training missions writing down what keys do what on a bit of paper , then give up when i get to the combat one where they introduce missiles- it's just too hard and for me and takes about 40, joyless mins to play through, i just chuck my keyboard notes out and give up

Was not the need to support consoles the reason for junking meaningful discovery/exploration?

"Next"? :)

For 90% of owners, this news kills the PC version just as must as it kills the consoles'.

"we will focus on new content updates on pc on the post odyssey code base" cuts out all ED PC basegame players except the handful that bought/buy Odyssey.

Remember, always read Frontier announcements from the bottom up! :)

I know absolutely nothing about Odyssey. I walked away seven years ago, and haven't played the game since.
I bought in early, with the lifetime expansion pass - which probably means zilch now. Poo-tee-weet!

The latest version of Elite Dangerous ... in a long string of reminders that the "C" in "Frontier Developments" stands for competence and the "Q" for quality :(

Then you get Odyssey at no further charge.

Having read a bit about it, I'll give that a miss! If - and it's a very big if - FD were to eventually close down the ED servers, and make the game available to download and play offline, then my interest might be rekindled. But that's highly unlikely, methinks1

Everytime i think about launching Elite Dangerous there's a massive update that looks like it'll take days to download so i haven't bothered with it for years now,i think the last time i played it was around the time planet landings/moon buggies got added, it sort of ran OK on my ancient pc then, but i gather the new first person shooter update really needs a top end computer to run smoothly, not sure what happened to the landscapes either but from watching gameplay on youtube everywhere looks really dull, and not as thrilling as the amazing concept art they produced as a hopefull target of what they might achieve
