Good to see you here again, CA... do you need a ladder?
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

I've just done some sums and if it continues to rise at this speed, they'll reach the target in 37 hours.

I fear that game has not yet finished with me Master Coyote. Tried to chart up the mine-craft recipes but they keep on changing it, the vector map information was wonderfully static so you knew exactly where you were with the project.

I found a wonderful community (called hatventures) with a well policed server attached to it. It fulfils the multi-player part of my gaming brain without being needlessly confrontational.

Back to topic however I'm thinking of the 150 and putting down Udian Forgara Shulth as an original Elite.... I'll have a think about it :D

Ha! You can guess who I'd put forward as an 'original'!

Hmmm, not sure that would go down too well :?
Why not? We've never profited from Elite and we have (in my opinion) really kept the flag flying for Elite and done some good work keeping it in the public consciousness. Maybe if we managed to raise the £5000 we shouldn't ALL go on the dinner, fair enough...

If we pledge a sizeable sum then it all goes towards trying to get Braben's goals alive again, so why would he object? Isn't that the goal of crowdsourcing?

Do you think that if the project is fan-funded he will listen more to the fans regarding content? Even the lower pledging ones?

Three out of the five £5,000 pledges have already been made - I wonder if this will set a Kickstarter record?

Edit to add: sold out!

Does anyone know precise what "Be a founding member of ‘The Elite’ in the game" actually means?

Cheers,

Drew.

Guessing - a group or faction in the multi-player side of it?

It's the digitising and uploading of your mind into the servers. Maybe.

Speaking practically, we could go for the £500, the £750, or the £3000, or wait until a second batch of the £5000 is added.

I'd contribute something to that, provided we find a form of contributing that doesn't involve Paypal.

Front page news even in Norway. (on the Internet version of the newspaper, but still)
"A brilliant game of blasting and trading... Truly a mega-game... The game of a lifetime."
(Gold Medal Award, Zzap!64 May 1985).
