Keep on your toes!

Phew I'm glad I had a 'lil mission to the Oosat...

So many OXP's had/have been updated, I think I'm up to date :?:

Maybe a 'Sticky thread' on the BB (in expansion packs). To inform of the latest OXP versions/updates wouldn't go amiss.

Wha? You're NOT checking Oosat 5-6 times a day, every day, just in case? You don't have one of those new fangled "lives" I keep hearing about, do you? ;)

Two words: RSS feed.

what kind of technical expertise on the part of the OoSatkeeper is necessary to run a RSS operation?

I could manage a sticky ;)

I was wondering about some form of CMS or database for this stuff, but it seems a large step to take.

I could build you a CMS for it if you like. Could probably put a working one together in a coupe of hours

Structurally it would work like my site but would use CSS to style it nicely. I could make it look superficially like OOsat, even including the same uploading method. That shouldn't take too long either

However, it would be in ASP - would I be right in thinking that OoSat is PHP based? If so, i'd be happy to host it on my webspace and give the OoSat admins the full rights to the site.

I have no idea if OoSat is PHPbased or otherwise. I'm just the coolie around there, as the webspace itself and scripting of the upload page is thanks to CapnHack.
as things are now, the tasks are within my limited tech scope of easily checking for uploads, moving them to appropriate folders and updating the html in my simple SubEthaEdit.

needless to say, fancy techno-progress scares me.
what do we want to progress towards? what's the vision?

Capnhack is running on an Apache 1.3 server on a FreeBSD box with PHP as a CGI and FrontPage file extensions. The Upload is a Perl script, but could be replaced by PHP extremely easily.

Murgh does a fine job with what he has, however, and the lack of CMS isn't so much the problem: not for those whose main desire is to have their OXPs served hot, I mean.

Edit: Murgh, Bandersnatch is in the "improved" section twice, at the minute.
