Reactive HUD

Post by Shipbuilder »

I have been thinking of a reactive HUD display as a possible oxp.

What I have in mind for this would be a HUD with a subdued display during general flight however when ships appear on the scanner i.e. yellow and red alert the HUD brightens to its normal intensity.

This is not something that I would be able to put together at the moment, (due to a current lack of knowledge in this area), and therefore I thought it worth posting in the suggestions section of the bb in case anyone with the knowledge would be interested in this idea.

Try either of these for an example to get you started:-

Just extend the equipment requirements used on the scanner(s) to any other dial whose appearance you want to alter automatically. Note on Wide-Screen HUD (1) the clock which brightens when you have deadlines to meet and fades when you don't (2) the Weapons offline text which is usually very faint but brightens (if weapons are still offline) when hostiles appear.
