Wow! That looks great. Think I won't go for the Boa 2 next, and save up for one of those. Downloaded.

Glad to see her finally out in the skies. She is a beaut, and picking her above a Boa 2 is a good idea IMHO.

Indeed, a ship to be proud of. Maybe a bit over-fussy in the detailing, but a lovely ship. Nicely done!

Thanks gents - I'm just glad that I have managed to get it finished.
I have a number of other ships that I have developed however they currently have only a basic texture and I generally need a bit of a break between texturing but with any luck I will get around to getting these ships issued over the coming months.

Just bought me my Serpent Class Cruiser. I was 30Kcr off the price, so a few cargo contracts later I had just enough to get one. Looks really nice. I especially like the Bridge View as well as the Scoop View I've got used to having with my Python Class Cruiser.

Question: my Serpent seems to lack engine flares. Is this by design or an omission?

This was an intentional part of the design.
The engines do not have exhausts but instead have an emission map to provide engine glow.
What is the general consensus i.e. do people think that the model would look better with exhausts included or as they are currently shown ?

I don't use this particular ship, but I do like ships without drive plumes - Griff's Moray is a nice example (though that has no engine glow, unfortunately).

Ah, if the engines glow, and change colour depending on the thrust setting, then I would be happy with that. I think big ships like the Serpent perhaps wouldn't have a big flare.

The engines do glow but the glow does not change intensity as the speed is increased.
This variable glow effect is something that I would like to learn how to achieve and I understand, rightly or wrongly, that this is to do with the use of shaders.
