In order to understand the workings of a ships AI, I have been setting reportAIMessages to true.

I've been using this for a while and the one thing that has always puzzled me is this...



What is with the red and blue circles? Sometimes the blue circle is centred on the ship and then there isn't a red circle. It is most mystifying yet hypnotic as they whiz around the screen.

In theory, the dots are:

• blue: destination
• red: primaryTarget
• cyan: targetStation
• magent: found_target (used in AI and legacy scripting)

At one point, I think some of them worked in some circumstances. Currently, it looks as though they’re probably completely broken all the time.
