That's what throws the errors, I think - the player ship has ceased to exist. I've had it happen once or twice myself.
Oops! That shouldn't happen. Fixed for the next version. I just hadn't taken the possibility of being killed by a flying saucer into consideration. :oops:

The issue mentioned above is fixed in v 1.2. Download as usual through the [EliteWiki] Wiki.

I tried the game for the first time, and for some reason it finished by itself after 3 seconds even though I had barely moved nor shot anything. When I started another game it proceeded as intended, and I actually got to play a little. (I was able to reproduce the self-terminating error by picking another difficulty setting afterwards.) The second Thargoid warship managed to kill me, though. I guess I shouldn't go up against too many Thargoids with a Cobra Mk1 and only a front military laser. The accursed thing kept overheating, and my energy banks were depleted quite soon as well.

Which version of Oolite are you using? And are you using a replacement ship set? The missile_launch_position mentioned in the second error group is buggy, and it's not part of Oolite 1.76.1.

Try upgrading to the latest version of Oolite. Then try again and report what happens.

Using Oolite v1.76.1, re the shipsets I have installed Neolite Core v1.0, Griff Shipset Addition v1.01, and Smiv's Shipset v4 add-on. The Thargoid warship in the Asteroids game was a Neolite version.

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

My thinking was different. I'd been going to go through all of McLane's OXPs and mark out which were no longer downloadable.

Maik's response means that it is less simple than I had thought. I presume that he has membership of Box and perchance thus enjoys privileged access to it.

So: at least two possibilities:

1) Maik was just lucky. I've managed this twice, I think, where a previously constipated box just disgorged what I wanted at a later occasion for reasons probably related to the conjunction of Lave with Riedquat and Zaonce being in opposition at the time, with Tionisla in the ascendant and Digebiti in the 8th Octant.

2) It is some sort of terrifying teutonic mafia-style connection which neither of us enjoy (McLane used to be into Raumpatrouille - I don't know if it was ever translated out of the German).
