I'm looking for elite scrensaver. I've found it many years ago on one site, but I can't remember, where...It was a screensaver with spinning Cobra MKIII. Has anyone this?

There is the
Oolite screensaver but not sure if its still on box.com.
Failing that a dive into the depths of Google would seem to be in order...

No. I have this one, but this consists only static images. The mentioned screensaver was animated. Cobra MKIII was in a wire-frame graphics, like in original ELITE from 1984.

You could try this page
http://www.ndh.net/home/ng/Download.htm
And (slightly off topic) just for the hell of it, have a look here
http://www.ianlawrencemodels.com/smlcobrawip.html
EDIT: A lot of the links on that page were dead, so (just in case the page disappears) I salvaged the screensaver and uploaded to the SSC here

Updated SSC link

Well, "is" might be a slight overstatement:

Fair comment sir and my apologies for my lack of participation on this board but the simple truth is that I have next to nothing to offer these days that would enhance this place in any way I think.
Not that I don't stick my nostrils over the barricades every now and again to have a look at the latest fiction, some of which I do like a read of in the wind down after work thing when I can, but such is life that gaming of practically all kinds has taken a back seat for a long while and that shows no signs of letting up.
That's niether a good or bad thing, simply the nature of the beast.
All of the above is not a gripe you understand, just stating how it is

Sadly ma'am I have not. While I have the intention to do so, my current work lists are running until at least the end of 2014 so very little oppourtunity to do fun stuff. Or to put it another way, building something that I want to rather than non-stop commission jobs.
Again, no gripe or moan just the nature of this kind of work and them bills just gotta be paid
Take care of yourselves out there all!

Hi Raytheon
Thanks for replying
If you do make anymore of your wonderful models in the future, do let us know on here would you? I know when word got out about your beautiful Cobbie III, some people felt inspired to try their hand at making their own favourite Elite ship. Not me of course, am useless at that sort of thing

That will teach you not to buy flat pack ship models from Ikea

Mrs_SandJ once bought a lovely looking unit of 9 cupboards with doors. Flat pack. Bloody expensive, too. After 4 hours I had successfully proved to my own satisfaction that it was impossible to construct this item
and have the doors open and close. By this time I had a pounding in the blood vessels in my head and the good lady wife was keeping well out of the way.
When I had finished kicking the living daylights out of this pile of chipboard crud, I carried the bits out to the back garden where Mrs_SandJ - without saying a word - took out to me a bottle of meths and a box of matches.
The previous Ikea item - a CD storage unit - we had also agreed was impossible to construct because the instructions were wrong such that one irreversibly glued and screwed a rear plastic section upside-down to a side piece.
As a consequence the SandJ household now officially Does Not Do Ikea.
(Written while sitting at an 18 year old MFI desk. Who would ever have thought anything could be worse than MFI?)

I can just imagine how satisfying that must have been
