[RELEASE] ELITE: Station Run

As advertised elsewhere, my take on an Elite board game is now ready to play.

This page on the MadCap website tells you all that you need to know...

I haven't finished the Oolite counters yet, as I used bitmaps for them and want to convert them to full vector so they will print nicely.

Please let me know if there are any problems with the download, the game or the rules. Playtesting hasn't been done (as my printer isn't connected).

Enjoy.

Brilliant. I love trialling board games. Don't get to do it often any more.

Am I right in thinking the hex board needs to be printed off 4 times?

Regarding the 201J010-103 A4 Dice Cards, when I print them off I get 1 red one and 9 blue/black ones. They look OK on screen (i.e. all red) but the blue/black ones will work too. I just wonder if it is my PC / PDF reader / printer at fault.

Yes, you need to print the hex board off four times. More if you want a longer game. Up to you.

Odd - all the dice templates should print off at the same colour. I haven't actually tried printing anything off yet (as I trust Inkscape's ability to export printable stuff to PDF) but all the previews come up OK.

:-(

Hi Selezen - I've just downloaded this and hope to take a look at it over the weekend.

Great idea by the way and good luck with the website.

[bump] (Sorry)

Did anyone get a chance to playtest this?

Interested in feedback as to whether or not the rules work and if the playing pieces are OK.

Hi Selezen - Sorry that I haven't got back to you sooner but have been very busy lately with RL issues.

I have downloaded this and do intend to look at it as soon as I possibly can. I'll then get back to you with some feedback.

Hi Selezen - Apologies for the delay (RL has been very hectic over the last 2-3 months).

Anyway I've started to have a look at the Elite Station Run board game unfortunately however I am not able to view page 2 of the Station Run Basic Rules Document or any pages of the Station Run Information Leaflet. :(

When I try to view these pages I get the message "Couldn't render the page".

I did wonder if my initial download had been corrupted so redownloaded again tonight but with no effect.

I will try to print off at work tomorrow in case it is only a viewing issue and let you know how I get on.

Hmm. I cant even download the zip file properly.

My hosting seems to have corrupted the files on my web site. Lots of the images on the Elite site were broken recently, and now the zip file for EliteSR seems to have gone the same way.

I'll reupload it now.

EDIT:L Try it now. I've checked it here and it seems to work now.

Odd, I gave it a shot just now and it worked, maybe something with your connection?
I actually downloaded the main zip back in August - quite a neat board-game you've put together Selezen :D.

Necro!(I've heard that thread necromancy is a form of art in this part of the Multiverse, so I thought I'd do my part!)

I've spent the last seven hours printing, coating and cutting the pieces... Tough job! Especially because I made everything double, just in case I mess something up. And then my board-game crew falls ill on influenza

The game seems very open-ended, is there any user-made campaigns? I'd love to try them out! When I get more familiar with the system, I might try making something myself...

ARISE!! ARISE FELL THREAD! ;-)

Oh no! After all that! Did you leave them outside while you built the game?

7 hours! Eek! When you say you printed double, does that mean you printed two copies of everything? A brave man indeed...

The game is completely open ended. I made it with the aim to emulate Elite in that way you get a ship and flying to stations is important - other than that the galaxy is yours. If you want to make up your own extended campaign rules then feel free.

Enjoy, and thanks for downloading. Can you let me know your opinion on how it plays and so on please?
