POLL: Would you follow an OXP update twitter feed?

Would there be interest in a Twitter feed with a weekly Tweet on new OXPs and updated OXPs?
If so I'm happy to set up and maintain.

There is
https://twitter.com/#!/oolite owned by Ahruman AFAIK and rarely used. I'm suggesting a specific Oolite_OXP_update account.

It is a good idea, but I would prefer an in-game update checker that works with info.plists to see if an update is available and if so download and install it.

Capt Murphy,
Maybe you should try to find out first how many Oolite users do use twitter at all.
I voted "What's twitter" although i do know what it is, but never found a reason to use it.

That would be nice, but I can't see network functionality being added to trunk anytime in the near (middle or far) future, so someone very clever would need to write a third party cross platform app that could parse info.plists or worldScripts to get version info, and the same someone would probably need to maintain a database of OXP's and download links for said app to access.

That's kind of the idea of the poll Lone_Wolf, and the 'What's twitter?' is for that very use. I've slightly edited to poll to make that clear. A useful factual OXP news service may be the reason you've been looking for.
(I've had an account for a good while and don't really use it)
The twittersphere is a good place to find DaddyHoggy these days by the way; he appears to have developed a tweet addiction (I suppose that's to be expected given his Avian background -
).

I don't actually use Twitter myself - so I voted "what's twitter?" I only joined facebook about year ago after a couple of friends decided to go ditch their cell phones and go facebook only - and even then I only login once or twice a month at best. I'm eventually getting an IP-address so I can use the old machine to host my own personal website and close down the facebook page.
Why not just have an OXP Update page right here on the bulletins? Anyone that wants to be kept up to date can subscribe to an email list.

We have that already in the Expansion pack forum as long as authors maintain and update a release topic. But it's very common to come across folk having problems and it becomes clear they often have lots of outdated OXPs installed, so it appears it's not enough.
Email list vs twitter? I personally don't like email based subscriptions due to privacy concerns. An RSS feed of the OXP list update history on the wiki might be an option. Maik? Can that be done?

I was actually thinking along the lines of a simple OXP "news" page here on the bulletins. Your idea is better - having an update list on the wiki page makes the most sense - that is primary the OXP source after all.
