I've seen in other posts comments about miss jumps, can yo force a miss-jump and is it ever worth doing ?

Easiest way to guarantee a misjump is to pull up hard as the counter hits zero. (If you're using a joystick to fly, you may not be able to get maximum climb. Use the keyboard instead for this bit)

Worth doing? Well, if you can take the fight, it's a good chance to boost your Elite rating and pick up some valuable alien items. There are a few other times where it's useful too.

And some OXP's have stations in interstellar space so you get sent there. Also to get across The Great Rift in G7 you have to missjump and to be able to reach Oresrati a series of missjumps are required.
