Oolite Bulletins

Hi folks,

Only very recently started playing with elite, and just got my new joystick for it. Of course I am still playing with the key mappings for the joystick. However as soon as I leave the station I can no longer use the F2 key to get into the joystick menu.
Is there any way around this? I find myself in the middle of a fight, realise I need to tweak something but have to quit and load a new game to do so (or abandon the fight and try and escape back to a station).

Also, once i've left the station if I decide I want to quit the game, or load a new savegame I cannot do it without flying back to a station (a drag) or force closing oolite and restarting it. I am quite happy with the idea of not being able to save a game when out in space, but having to force quit just to load a new game is a pain.

Not sure if this is by design or if I am just missing something.

The information you seek is included in the documentation in the game.

Hit P to pause - you can then access the options screen, where you should be able to access everything other than save and load commander.

Yup - though the fastest way to reload the last saved game is to kill oneself, the game will then omit loading for the default "new game".

Cheers Cap'n, that's done the trick. Just need to get the hand of flying with a joystick now!

I think you can start a new commander too.
