Time/date on the BB,

I noticed that the time and date at the top of the BB pages was an hour out, showing 7pm when it's actually 6pm. I had it set to GMT (I'm in the UK and it's winter!), but have now set it to Azores/Cape Verde time :!: :?: as this now displays the correct time.
This isn't right, is it?

It's fine for me. Under your user control panel, go to the board preferences under the options menu on the left hand side and then the global settings (or just click here).

Set my timezone to be UTC Western European Time, Greenwich Mean Time and make sure the Summer Time/DST is in effect: button just below it is set to no. Then the time should read correctly.

Thanks Thargoid. Doh, I still had the summertime set to yes

but the board could be able to react to DST itself (for those who set DST=yes), instead of every user having to configure it on/ off all the time.

I was very surprised that my old winXP SP1 with no updates still switched the time correctly even after the switching date was moved to later in the year. (now : Sunday following the last October Saturday).

PS - I am loving how extremely fast this board loads, it is the fastest I have ever come across ! 8)

Not everywhere changes their clocks on the same day (or even at all in some cases). Keeping track would end up a nightmare - more hassle than it would be worth to automate it.

Tell me about it... :(
Further muddying the waters, some countries decided to be on the wrong side of the bordering time fuse (the sun seems to raise and set too early/late) while others use half-hour increments!

We work, on occasion, with Boeing India in Bangalore, they're currently 4.5hrs ahead of us...
